Jewellery Base and Cabochon Base

Jewellery Base and Cabochon Base

A jewellery base is a piece of jewellery that serves as a base / substrate for jewellery making. Jewellery bases include cabochon bases to which imperforate jewellery stones or glasses are glued, called cabochon.

Jewellery base to which cabochon jewels or rhinestones are glued are also called jewellery bases. Ring bases are also jewellery bases, such as brooch bases, which are used to make brooches. In the jewellery bases category, there are also empty glass bottles/memorabilia bottles that can be filled with beads or other jewellery pieces of your choice to make necklaces or earrings. The jewellery bases also include the centres of rosary necklaces, or Rose Mary necklaces, which can be filled by gluing on gemstones, sparkling faceted crystals or glass cabochons.

Sometimes it is difficult to draw a line and categorise different pieces of jewellery. For this reason, you can find more glued jewellery parts in the Finnish Jewellery section, for example in the product group -> Rhinestones and Rhinestone bases.

Jewellery bases always need a good and durable glue, preferably crystal clear and flexible, which does not crack when drying and remains crystal clear, and does not turn a nasty yellowish or brownish colour. A good glue should also be able to withstand humidity and a wide range of temperature fluctuations.
